This is the area leading into what will be the Hong Qiao transportation hub.  The massive amount of construction here is not only about new expressway roads, but it also encompasses new metro lines, light rail, high speed long distance rail links and a new airport for domestic travel.  At the moment and on the surface it looks a mess, but the grand plan is going to be spectacular one day.
