After a brief respite in the English countryside, I find myself back in the vibrant city of Hong Kong. While the change of scenery was a welcomed respite, there’s an undeniable sense of comfort and familiarity that comes with returning to this bustling metropolis I’ve called home for the past several years.
One of the first things I wanted to do upon my return was to reconnect with nature. Hong Kong, despite its urban sprawl, offers a wealth of hiking trails and scenic getaways. I decided to tackle the challenge of ascending Violet Hill, a beloved destination for both locals and visitors alike. The climb was invigorating, and the panoramic views from the top were simply breathtaking. It was the perfect way to recharge and appreciate the natural beauty that Hong Kong has to offer and to catch up with Hannah.
Of course, no return to Hong Kong would be complete without reconnecting with my friends. We’ve spent countless evenings exploring the city’s vibrant dining scene, sampling the latest culinary creations and catching up on each other’s lives.
One particular highlight of my time back in Hong Kong has been the opportunity to explore the city’s burgeoning wine scene. Kerrie and Junhwan would agree.
As I settle back into the familiar rhythm of life in Hong Kong, I’m grateful for the chance to rediscover the aspects of this city that I hold dear. The hiking adventures, the quality time with friends, and the exploration of the city’s culinary and cultural offerings have all served to remind me why Hong Kong will always hold a special place in my heart. I can’t wait to see what other adventures await me in the months to come.
