Kind of enjoying this image a lot.  I was messing about at the time by shooting into the sun and adding a little flash. This image has been modified a little with some toning in the highlights and shadows and a strong high pass filter to bring out more of the detail and give the image a big of a harder edge.

Any comments?

The City Palace in Jaipur has a small arts centre where they sponsor people to carry on traditional arts and crafts. This man and his father make wooden brass inlaid boxes using traditional methods. Their work is sold at a fair price and it’s based on the amount of work, skill and detail put into the piece. It was also cool to see two very special boxes designed especially for the Prince of Wales. This man was very modest about his work, he had been making these small boxes for about 10-12 years and professed to be an amateur compared to his father. Nevertheless, his work was superb!

Bring on the orange!

These cool guys had an old camera set up to take pictures of tourists or anyone passing by.  Full old-school method too, shooting straight onto black and white paper, making a basic negative and then photographing the negative to get a final print.

This man was helping the “Portrait” guy from the post above.  Seemed only right to take a portrait of a few of these guys too!
