This is the future of Shanghai and a glimpse of what it will look like 10 years from now in 2020.

To be fair, it’s not changed much – it’s just that one very tall building in the middle of Lujiazui in the Pudong area that’s being built at the moment which is different from the scene today.

Zhongshan Park is one of the 4 or 5 main urban centres of Shanghai and currently the area I live.  In fact you can see my apartment, it’s on the bottom right and the second building of 3 tall buildings…

The Urban Planning Museum in Shanghai is really quite cool – they have a whole city model of what Shanghai will look like in 2020.  Although I’m not sure that it is very accurate, as my building is one of four tall buildings, not one of three, I really don’t think they’ll be knocking down the fourth one just to build some small housing.

After a couple days of the Urban Planning Museum and what they think Shanghai will look like… I feel the need for a present day view!!

This is the night time view from the hotel lobby of the Marriott Hotel at Tomorrow Square on Nanjing Xi Lu in Shanghai. I believe it’s the 38th floor.
