By the end of August, Paris carries a mix of moods. The city is still warm and bright, but summer is starting to wind down.

In Montparnasse, the flea market filled the street with stalls of books, records, and postcards. People browsed slowly, talking with sellers and enjoying the sun.

At République, the atmosphere was more urban. A skateboarder crossed the square as groups gathered along the edges and others passed through. The space had a steady, everyday rhythm.

Paris in August holds onto its sunny streets, but there’s already a sense the season is about to turn.
