This private garden was built in 1886 during the reign of Qing empreror Guangxu by a retired high official. It was appropriately named ‘Retiring to Thought Garden’ – Tuisi Yuan. There is a lotus pond in the center surrounded by pavillions, corridors and towers. It is a magnificient, small private garden. This was recognized as a World Heritage site in the year 2000.
