This is from a series of recent work I’ve been doing focusing on the detail of doors and entrances.  In China there is a very standard way to label streets and give house numbers.  This one is number 140 on West Street in Mu Du which is a small and pretty town just outside of Suzhou in China.  Somehow this particular sign has become one with the wall and is practically living inside it!

The green door in this one makes an interesting contrast from the normal red style.
