These styles of handles can be seen all over China, some old and wore, some new and shiny!

This pair against the green door were a little different and I love how each side have worn away differently.

Another set of interesting handles.  I love the texture in the painted door and around the plates which are fastened to the door

This lock was seen in Beijing and I just love the colours, texture and feel of this very traditional old lock.

For those of you who are interested, the Chinese Characters are read” Shen Ji”  My dictionary doesn’t have a meaning for these two characters together, so I’m not sure if this is just the name of the lock manufacturer or has some other sort of meaning.  Any ideas – please let me know by adding a comment!
